Where can I park my car?

Tumbarumba Trackhead - Figures Street

Are there toilets along the Trail?

Yes, at the Tumbarumba Trailhead, Glenroy Station, and Rosewood Station Trailhead

Is there water along the Trail?

No water is available on the trail so you must be prepared and take your own supply.



Who can use the trail?

Permitted – Cyclists, pedestrians and mobility scooters.

Not permitted – Motorised vehicles, horse riding and dogs.

Why can’t dogs go on the trail?

To ensure the safety of all users and the protection of livestock on properties along the trail.

What wildlife will I see?

Both friendly and not-so-friendly animals live along the trail. Small birds will nest in the tunnels and you may see rabbits, wombats and lizards to name a few! Resident magpies are known to swoop riders and snakes will slither across the track.

We recommend keeping your distance from all wildlife you may come across.

Rail trail etiquette

Safety

  • Wear a helmet and safety gear

  • Be aware of wildlife, snakes have been spotted

  • Take extra care at road crossings, cyclists should dismount before crossing roads

  • Take special care when crossing stock grids

  • Stay clear of fences as many have barbed wire and are electrified

  • Follow all signs and directions

  • Be prepared for weather changes

  • The trail could be closed on Total Fire Ban days

  • There may be mobile phone black spots

  • Take food, water, repair kit, pump, first aid, sunscreen

  • Stay wihin the rail corridors – do not cross fences



Respect others

  • Keep left so others can pass

  • Cyclists give warning when approaching from behind

  • Everyone give way - ‘Say hello’

  • Keep within the rail trail reserve

  • Give way to and be quiet near stock

Leave no trace

  • Protect all flora and fauna

  • Take your rubbish home

  • No camping, fires or firewood
